Process: Students, parents and teachers all have the ability to upload data (or content) into the online database known as EduKite. Content should only be uploaded by recognized members of your school community. The server is administered by Basekite Australia, the owner and developer of the EduKite system. Access: Teachers have access to all student portfolio websites (kites) that have been created in the system. Students have access (via login) to their own portfolio website, though they do not have access to other students’ portfolio websites. Parents have access (via login) to their children's portfolio websites, though they do not have access to other portfolio websites. Parents can edit their information page, change their password and include or omit data in any of the data fields. Students, parents and teachers can edit portfolio items to varying degrees. Privacy Act 1988: Basekite Australia is bound by the Information Privacy Principles of the Australian Privacy Act 1988. Collection: Basekite Australia stores information on its server and makes it available to students and parents with the consent of the school. Basekite Australia does not collect, edit or scrutinize content. All content is provided by the students, staff or parents. Use and Disclosure: Basekite Australia does not use personal information for a secondary purpose (that is, outside the realm of teacher, student and parent communication and for maintaining student portfolio websites at your school). EduKite is a solely school-based system. Basekite Australia does not make information contained on your cloud available to any other school, organization or individual whatsoever. Data Security: Basekite Australia takes reasonable steps to protect data from unauthorized access. Basekite Australia destroys data when requested to do so by the school and does retain that data.. Openness: All data stored on the EduKite system can be accessed by EduKite staff with administration privileges. Your school’s Kite Master controls access privileges, such as who has full editing rights, and which students are issued with, and have access to their kite. Basekite Australia does not determine these privileges. What To Do If You Think We've Made An Error: Basekite Australia is committed to the protection of privacy and your school community data. Sometimes, however, human errors do occur. If you think we have not lived up to our commitment, please contact us on +61 8 9433 6871 or via our 'Contact Us' page on this website. |
